A New Kind of Cover Feature for Eighth Generation

Since Louie Gong (Nooksack) started Eighth Generation in 2008 as a way to sell the custom shoes he was decorating with cultural art, Eighth Generation's inspiring story and innovative business practices have been featured in magazines, newspapers, TV shows, and online publications - but never a textbook...until now!

We're honored to be featured on the cover of American Indian Business, a business reader put together by Native Business professors from across the United States (Deanna M. Kennedy, Charles F. Harrington, Amy K. Verbos, Daniel Stewart, Joseph S. Gladstone, and Gavin Clarkson) as a resource on Native Business practices. This is strong validation that our stereotype-busting style of arts entrepreneurship is making a difference in the communities we hope to support.

Check out these photos of the Eighth Generation flagship store (by Marc Struder) that didn't make it onto the cover, and keep an eye out for American Indian Business, available this year through the University of Washington Press.

Stephanie Masterman (Tlingit), Eighth Generation Sales Associate, tidies one of our displays.

This photo highlights the Atrium, a wide open space in front of our store -- which is available for event booking.
